Quite simply, meditation is an opportunity to rediscover our unity with God, and to get back in touch with the inspiration, encouragement, security, serenity, and the love that God continuously offers.

Meditation is as easy as you will let it be. In fact, it's just relaxing our body and stilling our thoughts.

It isn't about doing something. Meditation is about not doing something. It's about letting -- and relaxing into a state of simply being -- without effort.

There is no one way that is right for everyone to meditate. You will know what is right for you.

One method that works for many is to seat yourself in a chair with feet flat on the floor. Usually you will want to close your eyes. Then begin to relax each part of your body. Start at your toes and work your way up your body, relaxing each part as you go to the top of your scalp. Or begin at the top of your head and move downwards.

Next, you may want to release any thoughts or concerns from your day by praying.

First, acknowledge your oneness with God. Then know that God already is providing any solutions you need now. Know that all you have to do is be open to the inspiration God is already offering.

Know that God's Grace provides exactly what you need, at exactly the right time, for the highest good of all. Since your concerns are already being handled by God, now you can begin to relax and still your thoughts.

Observe the thoughts that come up and let them go. As new thoughts come up, simply say to yourself "release", and relax even deeper. At first, you may have to "release" your thoughts a number of times. Don't be discouraged. It's simply a matter of training yourself to learn to let go.

Some find that saying a word that describes God's Good is helpful in keeping their minds from wandering. If you'd like, try saying centering words such as love, God, or serenity -- slowly -- with each of the next two or three exhaled breaths. Then be silent again.

If new thoughts come up, say your centering word again with the next breaths, then be silent again. It may take several more times to become empty of thought for a period of time. Again, don't be discouraged. It is just a matter of gently retraining yourself not to think, but rather to choose emptiness.

You may want to meditate for 15 or 20 minutes -- or longer -- or shorter if it feels right to you. You may want to meditate several times daily. Or meditate only "when the spirit moves you" to do so. Remember there are no right or wrong ways with meditation -- only what seems right to you at the time.

Each person's experience of mediation is unique to them. The experience could be a more relaxed state, a feeling of confidence, or a trusting feeling. Or, it could be a direct knowing of your connection with God. Or anywhere in between -- or somewhere else entirely. Whatever your experience, simply know that it is good -- and perfect for you at this time.

Becoming aware of our unity with God is the most important type meditation we can engage in. We encourage you to keep this pure meditation as your primary focus.

There are other types of meditation that you may also want to use, in addition to the pure meditation already described. These meditations can be helpful in becoming aware of your soul's individual intention in aligning itself with God's loving Grace and Law.

This understanding can help you choose to live your life in alignment with that of your true purpose -- your soul purpose.

For this type of meditation you will proceed as you do for the pure meditation -- relaxing your body and releasing your thoughts. Then you will want to ask a question of your higher self.

Ask a question in your mind then wait in the silence. If other thoughts begin creeping back in, simply repeat the question to yourself and wait in the silence. Your answer may, or may not come during the actual meditation period. But it will come. You simply need to stay aware.

It may come at any time of the day or night over the next few days -- or even weeks. And, it may come in a completely serendipitous manner.

It could come in the words of a song on the radio, or a billboard sign, or in a friend's phone call to you, or in a photograph you notice, or as an inspiration, or in hundreds of other ways. The answer will be there for you -- just expect it -- and stay aware.

You may repeat this type of meditation as you desire -- with a new question each time. As you become used to this meditation, you may begin getting answers immediately. If so, these answers may generate a new question, or questions, that you may want to ask your higher self during the meditation.

Another type of meditation is a guided meditation. This can be helpful in providing encouragement in aligning yourself with the Goodness God is willing to provide for your life -- as soon as you are willing to allow that Goodness in -- and you are willing to cooperate in doing what you need to do to allow that Goodness to manifest for you.

You may prepare your own guided meditations based on the sample provided below, or modify the format to one that seems more appropriate for you.
