YOU & IMPROVED

"Science is finally proving what the mystics have known all along," said Charles Fillmore, cofounder of Unity. He rejoiced that in his day, science was methodically investigating the Mystical Laws that govern the Universe.

So Mr. Fillmore welcomed the new teachings about relativity and quantum physics and the Big Bang. He saw modern science as offering corroboration of the Spiritual activity at work in the manifest realm.

Mysticism does not compete with science, on the contrary, correctly understood they are mutually supportive! Einstein's Theory of Relativity points to the mystical Law of Cause and Effect which governs creation. It is the Law of Sowing and Reaping.

Quantum Physics explores a multi-dimensional realm, vaster and more intricate than what appears at the surface. This is in alignment with Jesus' injunction to "judge not by appearances" to know the Truth that sets us free.

The theory of a Big Bang that started, sustains and continues to unfold the manifest universe, is what mystics have called the Infinite One, God or Spirit.

Mr. Fillmore teaches that God inherent in the universe is the great underlying cause of all manifestation; the source from which form proceeds. It is Infinite Source--the Singular Unity from which, and in which everything-- without exception--lives and moves. This Divine principle is everywhere present. Although Principle is formless, Principle is that by which all form is produced.

Mystics have discovered this Principle is present and individualized as the I AM of every person. I AM is God's own Divine Idea of Being, continuously unfolding in expression as expanding Self Awareness. That's what the Bible means that we have been made as the image and likeness of God.

This awareness is at the heart and center of each one of us--it is our consciousness, our self concept. That which we call "ME"--is a continually evolving and growing conception and expression of spiritual ideas.

Abraham-Hicks teaches that our consciousness is here in the material realm because this leading edge is a place of relativity and contrast, a continually changing thing. In this realm we awaken to focus and express preferences or desire.

According to similar teachings of Kabbalah, the energy we call desire is what drives individual consciousness and moves creation forward. The evolution of conscious is the evolution of desire.

Our experiences in the external realm continually reveal contrast, which awakens desire, and through the power of free will we allow our desires to be made manifest. Free Will does not force or coerce or compel the manifestation of our desires, but rather consents to Source Energy which is the Creative Principle at work in our life and in the universe.

Since desire is such an essential aspect of evolution, it is essential that we begin to familiarize ourselves with it's power. Desire is an intermixture of thought and emotion. Thought alone can produce an image, but emotion is what charges that image with creative energy and thrust. Our desire turns into a rocket of energy that is launched from wherever we are on the action journey.

Rather than fear our desires as coming from a broken and unworthy sense of self, let us recognize the motivating power of our intention.

The big secret is that everyone wants to feel good. How we define good is different for each person, but at the heart we all want the same thing: to feel better and better.

In the past we believed that in order for us to feel better, first something outside of us had to change. Now we recognize that everything in the outer realm simply serves to awaken us to contrast. We do not have to resist or oppose it. We are discovering that we can deliberately choose to make peace with wherever we find ourselves in the realm of contrast, and tend to our connection to Source Energy.

Our feelings are an infallible gauge of how much of the Source Energy we are letting in or resisting. We are learning and practicing the Art of Allowing, as our Individual Will aligns with Source Energy. We take our oars out of the water, cease resisting, and relax and soothe our way into greater and greater fulfillment by allowing more Source energy to express in us, through us and as us.

The Old Testament prophet declares Zechariah 4 "This is the word of the LORD: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty." "Let go and let God!" is how they state this in recovery programs. "Take your oars out of the water" is how Abraham puts it.

Stop resisting and going against the current, allow, allow, allow.

Jesus confirms His relationship to Spirit when he teaches: John 14: "It is the Father --Source Energy--living in me, who is doing It's work." His feeling connection to the Source is what empowered Jesus to express creative energy through His ministry. He assures us that we can do likewise.

Abraham teaches that as Spirit and body are in greater alignment, more Source energy flows through us. We become more deliberate creators, launching rockets of desire. That vibration is matched by the Law of Attraction to bring thought to where it has never been before.

As we make peace with where we are and tend to our emotional connection to Source, our vibration shifts and new things start manifesting in our experience. In that alignment, we begin to close the gap between where we are, and the desires for better that we have launched. Then the better we feel, the better it gets, and the better it gets, the better we feel. Life seems easier and easier and we feel the joy and well-being of a deliberate creator. In those experiences, life seems almost magical, and things unfold in a wonderfully synchronistic manner, all things working together for good in a stream of infinite well-being.

Sometimes we are not aware as this dynamic is happening, and only recognize it after-the-fact. Hey! Wow! That was great! As we reflect on our life, the more we recognize the Law of Attraction has always been at work--though perhaps we knew it not.

Let me tell you a true story: When I graduated from Unity Ministerial School, I was immediately hired to be minister of a Central Los Angeles church. In June, I flew out here to find an apartment for July occupancy.

Before the trip to California, I meditated and visualized how my new place would look and feel. I saw clearly that it had dark wooden floors and I counted 17 windows. I saw the place, I felt the place and walked through it in my imagination.

When I got to L.A., a lot of people at church advised me that one week to find an L.A. apartment was not realistic, but I paid no attention. Instead, I spent hours driving through the streets of the city asking, Is this where I live? One time just as I asked that question, I looked up to see a sign that said "Miracle Mile." Immediately, I accepted that Miracle Mile was a perfect place for a Unity minister to reside, and so I narrowed my search to that neighborhood.

But I found nothing. On Wednesday, after fruitless zig-zagging through the Miracle Mile, I went back to the hotel then went the pop machine downstairs to get a soft drink.Ê While there, I saw an LA Times real estate section lying on the floor, but put it right back down when I saw that it was a Tuesday paper.

Back in my room, while I prayed about the apartment, I heard a voice commanding me: Go back and get the classified section. I obeyed and got it and found one ad that jumped out: Miracle Mile charmer, two bedroom two baths, hardwood floors. So I circled the listing and brought the newspaper with me to church the next day. When I called the number, a lady on the phone told me I could see the apartment if I came right away. As I was leaving the church the Sr. minister handed me a blank, signed check, just in case I needed to put down a deposit.

Now let me switch to fast-forward: Mrs. Edith Beck showed me the place. She was owner and lived in the rest of the Spanish townhouse. Our conversation went this way: "What do you do"? "I'm a Minister", I said. "I'm an atheist", she replied. "Is that Christian"? "Yes". "I'm Jewish", she said. "So, are you a Republican"? And before I could respond she said, "I'm a Socialist". Later I learned that Mrs. Beck was one of the founders of the Gray panthers, a militant oldies group.

While the woman talked, I noticed the dark wooden floors, and immediately started counting the windows. 18 of them! Edith saw me counting. I don't provide window treatments, she said. But this window is against the garage wall and doesn't open, so that's one window less to worry about! I IMMEDIATELY KNEW THIS WAS MY APARTMENT!!!! Wood floors and 17 windows.

"I want to rent it!" I said to Mrs. Beck. But she told me: Another couple came right before you and I promised it to them. Well, I said, let me give you a check to hold the apartment, in case they change their mind. Edith Beck protested, but I insisted and told her I would come back and get the check if the couple came back with the deposit. Then I left and returned to the church.

An hour later, Mrs. Beck called and asked: So, when would you move in? I told her the first of July, and she said: Then the apartment is yours. The couple wanted an August move-in, and with Reagonomics, I can't afford to keep the place empty for another month.

There is a lot more to the story, much of it equally magical, but you have heard enough to prove a point, though I did not know it myself at the time. The clear visualization of the apartment while I was still in Missouri launched a rocket of desire and activated the Law of Attraction.

When people started telling me of the impossibility of finding a place in such a short time, I stayed focused on my positive intention. Their words just slipped right off me. Each step along the way, as I stayed emotionally connected to the desire for my new place, I allowed the moment-to-moment guidance help me to close the gap.

It was magical! But more than magic, now I see that it was the Law of Attraction at work!! I was discovering and proving in my own life, what the mystics have known all along.

I am sure that there have been many times in your life when you experienced what seemed like coincidences or serendipity from out of the blue. Things fell into place easily and smoothly and without much efforting. Life felt good.

Everyone wants to feel more of that. We are learning to allow, increase and expand those JOYFUL states. As Kabbalah states, you are not here to be good, you are here to be better and better.

Wherever you find yourself, refrain from judgment about it and see it as a jumping off place that offers contrast. What would you like instead? You know what you want! You want to feel better and better. You want to be YOU and IMPROVED.

Make peace with where you are in the outer realm and tend to your connection to Source. Allow, Allow, Allow. The better you feel the better it gets, the better it gets, the better you feel. And magic seems to happen!

You are still YOU, but your life is imroved as Source Energy is making all things NEW.
